Control System Pre‑Commissioning

Contract includes pre-commissioning (OAT) support for HVAC and Process Control Systems throughout the current factory buildout. Mundial Group provided pre-commissioning management of the OAT teams and developed pre-commissioning documentation for field teams. The management also conducts daily pre-commissioning meetings with design, facilities and construction representatives, installation contractors and systems integrators, to track progress and identify gating issues in order to resolve and continue progress. In addition to pre-commissioning management, Mundial Group provided instrument technicians in the field to perform the pre-commissioning of the HVAC and Process Control Systems. This OAT consisted of confirming proper device wiring, labeling, terminations, tagging, installation location and correctness of installation were all field verified per the design documents. Discrepancies were recorded, reported and reviewed with the installing contractor to revise and correct deficiencies. Upon completion of field review, instruments were configured, valves and damper actuators set for correct operation, individual I/O were tested and simulated through the PLC/BAS system to confirm function. Mundial Technicians provided troubleshooting support throughout all phases of the project and offered installation support, working with the installation contractors to show correct installation and termination methods.

I&C Superintendents and Field Engineers

Mundial Group is providing augmented staffing to perform construction superintendent duties associated with the construction of the factory expansion project. Our staff is responsible for overseeing the installation of Instrumentation and Controls Systems. These duties include field coordination with other trades, interaction with the design team to resolve field issues. QA/QC walk down of systems to confirm correct installations by the various controls contractors. Our team is responsible for tracking all field installations. They attend daily field coordination meetings and assist with equipment start up activities. They are coordinating the installation of PLC Cabinets, Network, Power to Control Panels, HVAC and Process Controls Instrumentation. Our field engineering staff is reviewing proposed instrumentation, installation details and location drawings. They are conducting field walks with installation contractors to review instrument installation locations and methods.

AOP Water System Pre-Commissioning

Hillsboro, OR / Chandler, AZ

Contract included pre-commissioning (OAT) support for 4 AOP (Advanced Oxidization Process) Systems. Mundial Group prepared the OAT documentation for each I/O point. Proper device wiring, labeling, terminations, tagging, installation location and correctness of installation were all field verified per the design documents. Discrepancies were recorded, reported and reviewed with the installing contractor to revise and correct deficiencies. Upon completion of field review, individual I/O were tested and simulated through the PLC/SCADA system to confirm function.

Gray Construction

Michelin Red Oak / G83 Projects

Anderson, SC

Contract included on-site calibrations of all process instrumentation and control valves for the Michelin Tire Manufacturing Facility. In addition, Mundial Group controlled and coordinated the turnover of the calibrated instrumentation to the installation contractor. Mundial Group performed field QA/QC of all instrumentation to confirm proper installation per design and manufacturers requirements. Discrepancies were recorded and reviewed with the installing contractors to resolve. Mundial Group provided 3rd party witness verification of the system checkout and loop functionality testing performed by the Systems Integration Contractor.

Pacific Coast Canola

Moses Lake, WA

Contract included on-site calibrations of all process instrumentation, pressure gauges and temperature indicators associated with the Canola Oil Processing Facility. Mundial Group prepared individual calibration records for each device calibrated on-site. All test equipment met NIST standards. Calibration stickers were affixed to each instrument that was certified. Devices that were found to be out of tolerance were documented and reported to the client to have it repaired or replaced.

Kuraray PVA 1st Line Project

La Porte, TX

Mundial Group provided staff augmentation on this project for Instrumentation and Controls Construction Management. This facility was built to manufacture Polyvinyl Alcohol used to create polymers. We functioned as a part of Gray Constructions on-site Construction Management Group. Our staff was responsible for management of sub-contractors associated with the installation of instruments and the controls systems, including the integration contractor. Supported phases consisted of pre-construction, construction, system testing and start-up.

Mundial Group provided staff augmentation on this project for the management of the Systems Integration and Instrumentation and Controls contractors. This project consisted of multiple vendor skids all requiring integration into one supervisory system. Mundial group was responsible for reviewing code, screen and graphics associated with the equipment being provided by each vendor and coordinating efforts with the SI contractor to implement functionality. Mundial Group was also responsible for overseeing and providing pre-commissioning and commissioning support of the process systems.

Mundial Group provided augmented staff to perform field calibrations and pre-commissioning (OAT) and start-up support (FAT) for this semiconductor FAB and CUB facility. Hoffman provided the individual OAT packets that were assigned to our team for field verification and sign off of instrumentation associated with all of the HVAC and Process Systems. Proper device wiring, labeling, terminations, tagging, installation location and correctness of installation were all field verified per the design documents. Discrepancies were recorded, reported and reviewed with the installing contractor to revise and correct deficiencies. Mundial Group is contracted to provide support for this Boeing 777X Wing Fabrication Facility. Duties include management of vendors performing point to point checkout, pre-commissioning and test and balance of the HVAC and Utility Systems. Our staff has been responsible for starting, operating and maintaining early run equipment such as Air Handlers, Chillers and Boilers. Mundial Group managed the installation of instrumentation associated with the Autoclave unit and assisted with pre-commissioning and start-up of the associated systems.

Global Foundries TDC Project

Mundial Group provided augmented staffing to perform construction superintendent duties associated with the construction of this semiconductor Test and Development Center. Our staff was responsible for overseeing the installation of Instrumentation and Controls Systems, Toxic Gas Monitoring Systems, LSS and Fire Alarm Systems. These duties included field coordination with other trades, interaction with the design team to resolve field issues. QA/QC walk down of systems to confirm correct installations. Develop installation discrepancy reports and track to resolution. Attend daily field coordination meetings as well as work group meetings. Assist with equipment start up activities to perform OAT and FAT testing. Systems included HVAC, Humidification, FAB Pressurization, Chilled and Heating Water, Process Water, Hazardous Waste, Industrial Waste, Scrubbed Exhaust, Process Gas and Chemical Distribution Systems.
